Open Access Statement
The Journal of Science, Society and Language is a fully open access journal. Every article is free to read, download, and share from the day it is published, and authors keep copyright.
Free to read
There is no subscription, no paywall, and no embargo. The full text of every article is available to anyone, anywhere, from the day its issue is published — without registering or paying. Nothing is charged to read JSSL, and nothing is charged to submit a manuscript, to be reviewed, or to revise.
Licence and reuse
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, redistribute, translate, adapt, and build on any article for any purpose — including commercially — and deposit it in any repository, without asking our permission.
The one condition is attribution: credit the author and JSSL, link to the licence, and say whether you made changes.
Copyright
Authors retain copyright. No transfer or assignment to the journal is required — we ask only for the right of first publication.
You may post the submitted, accepted, or published version anywhere, at any time, with no embargo, and reuse your own figures, tables, and text in later work without applying to us. Any third-party material you include stays under its original terms, and obtaining permission for it remains your responsibility.
Fees
Nothing is charged before an editorial decision is made. The only author-facing charge is a publication fee for non-members, which falls due after acceptance:
| Stage | Charge |
|---|---|
| Submission, review, revision | None |
| Publication fee — Forum members | None |
| Publication fee — non-members | ₹500 per accepted article |
| Colour figures, extra pages, reader access | None |
The fee covers DOI registration and hosting. Every accepted article is registered with a DOI, paid or not. The fee is waived on request for students and researchers in need
Editorial decisions are made on academic merit alone. Ability to pay plays no part in review or acceptance, and an accepted article is never withheld for non-payment.
Questions
Most reuse needs no permission — the licence already grants it. For anything else, including fees and waivers, write to tipraaf@gmail.com.
